The Roselli Santoku kitchen knife, Damascus is where precision meets craftsmanship. Its blade is forged from 37 layers of different steels that are forge-welded together to form Damascus steel, creating the distinctive layered pattern that gives every knife its individual character.
The blade is made entirely in-house by our blacksmith Juho in Harmoinen, Finland. Creating it is a meticulous and time-intensive process: the different steels are layered, heated and forge-welded together before the blade is forged and shaped by hand. As the steel is worked, the characteristic Damascus pattern emerges, making every blade unique.
The Santoku is designed as a versatile everyday kitchen knife. Its broad, balanced blade is ideal for slicing and chopping vegetables, meat, fish and herbs, while its width makes it easy to transfer prepared ingredients from the cutting board to the pan.
The handle is crafted from Finnish curly birch and treated with linseed oil for a comfortable and secure grip. Its natural grain complements the individual pattern of the Damascus blade, giving each knife its own distinctive appearance.
Each Santoku is sharpened and finished by hand in Harmoinen, Finland, and comes with a handcrafted sheath made from vegetable-tanned Finnish leather for safe storage and protection of the blade.
